No, as no one wants to cause harm to anyone else in our classes nor do they want to hurt themselves. Everyone has some fear of getting punched, kicked, falling, or grappling with strangers. Accordingly, we quiet our minds focusing on patience, practice, and control of our bodies. Respect for self and others will be the premise to avoid injury. Compassion for others, and cooperation and confidence with any partners are developed mindfully over time. We understand how terrifying it can be to get hurt or accidentally hurt someone. Over time, you will be comfortable with touching or interacting with other people’s bodies and being touched, feel stronger, more confident, and even more able to take care of yourself in a pinch.
